Each year, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Historic Downtown Brunswick lights its tree. Festivities include Christmas carols and carriage rides.

Jekyll Island Christmas Tree Lighting Festival – Saturday, November 30, 2013

Historic Distric Lawn area – Jekyll Island

Jekyll Island celebrates the magic of the holiday season with the annual Tree Lighting Festival. Family-friendly activities include crafts, jingle bell tours, food, entertainment and fireworks in the evening. Festivities begin at 4pm and admission is free. (Event is free, Jekyll Island parking fee is required)

Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation, 31st Annual Plantation Christmas – Friday & Saturday, December 6 & 7, 6pm – 9pm

Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site – 5556 US Highway 17 North, Brunswick, GA

Each year this former rice plantation rolls back the clock to the 1850s. Guests see how Christmas was celebrated with a candlelit stroll down a carriage road and enjoy candlelit tours of the antebellum plantation house. Also on hand are Civil War reenactors, hot wassail and cookies, Christmas carols and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Historic Downtown Brunswick Christmas Parade – Saturday, December 7, 2013, 10am

Gloucester Street beginning at Howard Coffin Park, ending at Mary Ross Waterfront Park

This annual community parade features over 100 floats, walking groups and marching bands. At the end of the parade, Santa makes an appearance! After the parade, visit Mary Ross Waterfront Park for unique crafts and farmers market produce.

Pier Village Holiday Market on St. Simons Island – December 14-15, 2013
