Brunswick and St. Simons Island Welcome Wounded Warriors

On Saturday, October 25 Brunswick, St. Simons Island and the McGladrey Classic welcome a group of wounded warriors to the PGA TOUR event.

As part of Military Appreciation Day at the McGladrey Classic PGA Tournament, a group of wounded warriors will be special guests. Last year, the community welcomed them in style by forming a motorcycle escort and lining the bus route. Organizers hope 500 bikers will join in the motorcade this year.

How to participate:

Supporters – supporters are asked to dress in patriotic colors and wave flags and thank-you signs. Line the parade route from Lanier Plaza in Brunswick to First Baptist Church on St. Simons Island (FJ Torras Causeway to Kings Way). Veterans organizations should consider standing in formation with unit colors. Scouts and school groups may come as a group in uniform. The parade begins at 11am.

Bikers – Bikers should arrive at Lanier Plaza (1919 Glynn Avenue) at 10:15 am to begin lining up for the motorcade that departs at 11am. Those who wish to join the motorcycle escort, contact Dan McFee at 912-399-2663.

The entire community of St. Simons Island and Brunswick wants to warmly welcome and thank the wounded warriors who have contributed so much to our freedom. Please participate in this community reception if you are able!
