Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012

In July 2012, Congress passed the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012. This Act calls on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other agencies to make a number of changes to the way the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is run. Changes have already been implemented and further changes are coming in the next several months that could impact homeowners in Glynn County, including St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island and mainland Brunswick, Georgia.

If you own a home or are considering purchasing a home in a flood zone that was constructed before 1986, Hodnett Cooper Real Estate, Inc recommends you contact your insurance agent to see how the Flood Insurance Reform Act may affect you.
