Working from the mainland Brunswick, Georgia office, Stephanie Foster had the highest number of real estate transactions, earning her the “Agent of the Quarter” Award for First Quarter, 2014.

And working from the St. Simons Island, Georgia office, Joe Wills had the highest sales volume, also earning him the “Agent of the Quarter” Award for First Quarter, 2014.

Becky Canter Joins Hodnett Cooper Real Estate, Inc.

Hodnett Cooper Real Estate, Inc. is pleased to announce that Becky Canter has joined the Hodnett Cooper team as a Realtor.

Becky Canter joins the Hodnett Cooper Real Estate team after a career in education. Canter spent most of her teaching career at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia leading the work-based programs. Canter is connected in the Glynn County business community, as she placed many high school students in business and work environments. Canter has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University.

In real estate, Becky enjoys introducing newcomers to our unique community.  Much like matching students with suitable workplaces, Becky enjoys helping clients meet their real estate goals. “With Becky’s background in education, work-based learning, familiarity with the business community, and deep roots in the area, she is an incredible asset to the Hodnett Cooper Real Estate team,” said Pat Cooper, President and Broker.

Home Sales Stay Strong After Summer Months

In our market area, which includes resort destinations like St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island and Sea Island, many homeowners think the selling season passes with the end of the summer months. While our coastal resort market does experience some seasonality, Hodnett Cooper Real Estate’s historic sales data* indicates that strong sales continue even after the exit of our summer visitors.

Neighborhood Focus: St. Simons Island Club

In the first eight months of 2013, Hodnett Cooper Real Estate has seen sales in the St. Simons Island Club neighborhood heating up. There have been seventeen sales with an average sale price of $694,024.

In homage to the Island’s golf heritage, this picturesque neighborhood has streets named after renowned courses worldwide. Many homes have views of the Retreat Course that winds through the neighborhood. Residents have several options for membership in the Sea Island Club, which gives you access to the amenities in Island Club including golf, dining at the Davis Love Grill, tennis and swimming and even more amenities beyond. More Good News for the Glynn County Real Estate Market at the Close of Q2

At the close of the second quarter, Hodnett Cooper Real Estate, Inc. is pleased to report the overall health of the housing market in Glynn County, Georgia continues to improve. Houses are selling and the average sales price is heading upward.

According to Golden Isles Multiple Listing Service data, total sales volume for Brunswick and St. Simons Island* for the first six months of 2013 is up 8% compared to the same period last year. And the average sales price has increased over 9%. We are encouraged by this year over year improvement.

Increase in Glynn County Building Permits Signals Real Estate Market Improvement

For the start of 2013, Glynn County has seen a substantial increase in new building permits for single-family homes. In the first quarter alone, 107 permits were issued, representing a 27% increase from the same period last year and 64% increase over the five-year low in 2009.

According to a National Association of Home Builders study, the estimated one-year impact of building 100 single-family homes include $21.1 million in local income, $2.2 million in taxes and other government revenue and supports 324 local jobs.

This increase in building activity is a healthy sign not only for real estate sales in St. Simons Island, Brunswick and Glynn County, but also a healthy sign for wide-reaching sectors of the area’s economy and workforce.
