There’s something about a pool on vacation that naturally brings everyone together. Whether it’s kids splashing for hours, grandparents watching from a nearby lounge chair, or everyone gathering together after a day at the beach, it’s truly where some of the best memories are made. And a seasonally heated pool lets you enjoy more time in the water, extending the pool season on St. Simons and Jekyll Island well beyond the warmer days of summer!
Why a Heated Pool is a Golden Isles Vacation Rental Essential
While the Golden Isles are known for mild weather throughout the year, temperatures can vary between the warm summer months and the cooler mornings and evenings of spring, fall, and winter. That’s what makes a heated pool such a valuable perk! Many of our St. Simons and Jekyll Island vacation rentals offer seasonally heated community pools or private pools that can be heated during your stay, often accompanied by other thoughtful amenities, including private balconies, beach access, covered parking, and more.
After a day spent browsing the shops, visiting historical sites, and biking around the island, there’s nothing better than returning for a refreshing swim while reminiscing about the day’s adventures. It’s an amenity guests request time and again because it adds yet another place to gather, unwind, and enjoy the simple moments that make a Golden Isles family vacation so memorable.
Common Questions About Golden Isles Vacation Homes with Heated Pools
Which months are the pools heated?
Pool heating schedules vary by property, giving you the flexibility to choose accommodations that fit your travel dates and preferred pool temperature:
- St. Simons Grand: Heated year-round
- The Sea Gate: Heated year-round
- Ocean Walk: Front pool heated year-round; back pool not heated
- North Breakers: Heated March through November
- Coast Cottages: Community pool heated Friday through Sunday from late September through mid-May, plus select holiday weeks; additional heating available by request for $50 per day. Please inquire for details.
Do I have to pay to heat the pool?
It depends on the pool type. Community pools are included in your stay at no extra cost, so you can enjoy a heated swim without any added fees. Coast Cottages is the one exception, where heating outside its standard schedule is available for $50 per day upon request. Private pools do include an additional heating fee, so be sure to ask about pricing when booking.
Is the pool cold when it’s not heated?
Yes. Outside the scheduled heating periods, the pool temperature will reflect the outdoor air and water temperatures, which can be noticeably cool, especially in the winter months.
