Hodnett Cooper Joins Berkshire Hathaway

The name Hodnett Cooper Real Estate has long been a mainstay in the Golden Isles real estate market. But in the spring that will change.

The company will join Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, part of the HSF Affiliates LLC family of real estate brokerage franchise networks. In the spring, the company will officially begin operating as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hodnett Cooper Real Estate.

The family-owned brokerage, led by broker/owner Pat Hodnett Cooper, the daughter of its founder, operates three offices with more than 50 agents. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is America’s fastest-growing real estate brokerage network with more than 42,350 agents and 1,270 offices admitted to the brand since its founding in September 2013.

When presented with the opportunity to join the firm, Hodnett Cooper said she jumped at the chance.

“Very few times in your life do opportunities present themselves that are life changing; this is certainly one of those times,” she said.

“I am so excited for the future of our real estate company and for what our franchise affiliation with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices will mean for our business.”

She feels that aligning the real estate brokerage with a large and recognizable firm like Berkshire Hathaway Inc. will bring good things in the years ahead.

“The name will resonate well with clients in all market segments and with real estate professionals in our area; we’re proud to represent this terrific brand and look forward to growing with the very best,” she said.

With their transition, Hodnett Cooper Real Estate agents will gain access to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ Global Network Platform, a powerful tool suite focusing on lead generation, marketing support, social media, video production/distribution and more. The brand also provides national and international marketing support, listing syndication to consumer search sites in 35 countries, professional education and the exclusive Luxury Collection for high-end and resort listings.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices CEO Gino Blefari is also optimistic about the move.

“Pat is a well-respected leader throughout the St. Simons Island and Golden Isles marketplace,” he said. “We are thrilled to welcome them to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices family.”

The company’s new Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices yard signs are expected to populate the Golden Isles this spring. Hodnett Cooper Vacation Rentals, Inc., however, will continue operations as the largest vacation rental company on St. Simons Island and will not be part of the franchise affiliation.

Erin finished the 2016 year with $9,695,713 in sales volume and was involved in over 75 transactions.  She is also currently serving on the MLS Board of Directors and is the GIAR Awards Committee Chairman and the Chairman of the Young Professionals Network.

HGTV Dream Home 2017 on St. Simons Island

Have you heard? HGTV 2017 Dream Home is on St. Simons Island! HGTV is no stranger to St. Simons featuring our small but beautiful island on many of their shows throughout the years. St Simons was featured on Island Life, where a couple and their children from California move across country for a slow paced, more relaxed coastal lifestyle. One of Hodnett Cooper’s very own, Lisa Wilson was the Real Estate agent featured on the show to help the lovely couple find their perfect island home. In addition, St. Marys, just a few miles away was also the 2004 HGTV Dream Home. This year, in the heart of the island at Sea Palms subdivision sits the 3,600 square foot Dream Home. The home was originally built in the 1980’s but was completely remolded and turned into a modern day fairy tale. In addition to the lucky winner receiving the beautiful home they also win a Honda Pilot and $250,000 in cash, not bad right?! In previous years they have opened the Dream Homes for public tours and we are keeping our fingers crossed they will do the same this year! The contest starts December 28th and ends February 17th. You can vote twice a day every day, in years past there has never been a winner who did not vote twice a day every day… so make sure you enter daily!!! The winner of the contest will be announced in late February or early March.

Curaytor Excellence Conference

This week Hodnett Cooper travels to Orlando, FL for the much anticipated Curaytor Excellence Conference. Curaytor was founded by two guys who know the Real Estate industry Curaytor Co Founderswell and felt like they had many great ideas to offer others in the business. Curaytor Co-Founders, Chris Smith and Jimmy Mackin specialize in all things digital media. From web sites, to lead generation, to online and mobile advertising. Clients all over the United States boast of their increased sales, brand awareness, and customer retention with the help of Curaytor. We are excited to learn from some of the best in the industry this week! They have set up an awesome line up of guest speakers from Curaytor employees to CEOs of successful Real Estate companies. We are confident we will come back flooded with great ideas and will have heard so many great success stories from other companies like ours. As well as learning opportunities about what others have tried that didn’t work so well. We can’t wait to get back to St. Simons and share all the exciting things we learned. Catherine brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous experience in hospitality management, real estate marketing, and management at Frederica. In addition to her business experience Catherine holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Florida. She is a Licensed Real Estate Agent in the State of Georgia and is a 2003 Leadership Glynn Graduate.

Recently a diverse group of Hodnett Cooper team members  participated in the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® exclusive conference, which took place at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE) Conference Week attracts a prestigious audience of nearly 2,500 real estate professionals from 25 countries.

The conference was offered exclusively to professionals affiliated with LeadingRE, a global community of real estate companies awarded membership based on rigorous standards for service and performance. The event offered further education for every branch of our firm. Brokers to REALTORS and relocation professionals, all the way to our marketing and technology specialist. Our team explored a range of topics relating to the real estate market and addressed ways to best reach, communicate with and serve today’s savvy home buyers and sellers.

REALTOR, Dawn Miller was the recipient of this award. Hodnett Cooper Real Estate Welcomes Anne Lyndon Peck

We are thrilled to announce that REALTOR, Anne Lyndon Peck has joined our Hodnett Cooper Team!

Born in Macon, and a seventh-generation Georgian, Anne has been visiting the Golden Isles since she was a young child. She has recently moved to St. Simons from Athens, where her family has a long history with the University of Georgia and especially UGA football. Anne received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and worked as an interior designer for several firms in New England and Georgia. While her three daughters were growing up she and her husband founded one of the earliest internet retail companies, Outpost.com; more recently they opened thirteen PeachMac Apple retail stores across the south.

Anne revels in using her eye for interior design and her fluency in internet marketing to help buyers find the perfect home and sellers show their houses to the greatest effect.

Anne’s passion for Coastal Georgia is renewed every time she takes a long walk on the beach with her husband. She also enjoys listening to live music and dining at the great local restaurants in the Golden Isles. She has joined the Literary Guild of St. Simons and the St. Simons Land Trust,  and is always looking to be active in other local organizations.

Paying It Forward With Property.

Here at Hodnett Cooper Real Estate we not only have the most talented group of agents but also the most giving. Since January 2015, Realtor, Carly Oxenreider has brought a new meaning to corporate charitable giving through her program, “Paying It Forward with Property”. She donates 10 percent of her personal commission at the end of each sale to a charity of her client’s choosing.

The Holiday edition of Golden Isles Magazine recently did an article on Carly’s giving demeanor. In the article readers discover that Carly’s passion for giving back started long before she came to Hodnett Cooper Real Estate, For her 40th birthday a few years ago, while living in Los Angeles, she asked family and friends to commit to completing random acts of kindness such  handing out coats to the homeless or buying someones meal at a drive through window. We could not be more thrilled she brought her Real Estate talent and giving heart to Hodnett Cooper in 2014 . We look forward to many years of working along side this talented, selfless woman.

Carly hopes more real estate agents will follow her lead and create their own way to pay it forward. Maybe we can all take note from Carly’s example. With the holidays approaching the needs of others become more visible. There are so many opportunities to give back regardless of where you are.
