St. Simons Island Guide to Summer Fun – 4TH OF JULY

4th of July week is a favorite time of year on St. Simons Island. For 60 years, the St. Simons Island Sunshine Festival has been held in the Pier Village, welcoming all ages to celebrate!
Sunshine Arts & Crafts Show – July 4-6, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Friday through Sunday, the show features a variety of artists including painters, potters, jewelers, woodcrafters, photographers and more. Vendors will be in Postell Park adjacent to Mallery Street, the lighthouse and casino.
Sunshine Festival 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run
On Friday, July 4, the fun run begins at 7:30am. The longer 5K begins at 8:00am. Sponsored by the Golden Isles Track Club, registration, race start and race finish are all at Mallery Park (near the Dairy Queen and ball fields) on St. Simons Island. Race Day registration and packet pick up is from 6:00am – 7:15am at Mallery Park. Or register in advance online.
Wear your patriotic gear to run or cheer the runners!
Golf Cart Parade – July 4, 2:00pm
Deck out your golf cart in red, white and blue and join the golf cart parade! Carts line up adjacent to Mallery Park, then make their way through the St. Simons Island Village.
Live Music – July 4
Throughout the day, live bands entertain on the bandstand in the village area.
Fireworks – July 4, 9:00pm
The annual fireworks display is launched from the pier, so the best viewing areas are Neptune Park and nearby waterfront locations. Bring a chair, sit back and enjoy the show! Parking is tight, so arrive early, walk or bike.
