During the summer months (Memorial Day to Labor Day), animals are prohibited on the beach between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 am, dogs are allowed on the beach and do not need to be leased, but must be in the owner’s immediate control. In non-summer months (Labor Day through Memorial Day), dogs are allowed on the beach at all times and do not have to be leashed, but must be in the owner’s immediate control. Owners who are not able to control their pet by voice command are subject to ticketing and fines. Owners must clean up after their pets on all St Simons Island and Jekyll Island beaches.

If you are like many other people, you do not want to leave your pet behind to go on vacation. We have a simple solution for you… bring them with you! St. Simons Island beaches are pet friendly year-round, from Labor Day to Memorial Day you can take your dog to the beach whenever you would like. During the summer months dog access is still allowed but restricted to 6 pm to 9 am. One great thing about St. Simons Beaches is your dog doesn’t have to be on a leash if the owner has immediate control of the animal! So, your fur baby can run, play, and have a ball (literally) in the sand and ocean waves.

Since our beaches are pet friendly it makes perfect sense that so are a select group of our vacation rentals. Broken down into two categories we have Pet Friendly units for dogs under 35 pounds and Pet Friendly units for dogs over 35 pounds. Because our vacation rentals are privately owned the discretion is left up to the owner as to whether pets are welcome.

There is nothing better than seeing your pup having a blast at the beach and having peace of mind they are safe and comfortable while you are away from home enjoying your vacation!
