Wintertime Fun

January 14th, 2022

Winter is a wonderful time of year for outdoor adventures and local events in the Golden Isles. And this year, some of our favorites are back!

St. Simons Land Trust Oyster Roast, January 22nd. St. Simons Land Trust’s annual Oyster Roast has been considered a must-do event in the Golden Isles for more than 20 years. Enjoy live music, coastal cuisine and beverages from restaurants and partners across the Golden Isles; while learning about the St. Simons Land Trust initiatives and preservation efforts.

Island Treasure on Jekyll Island. January 1-February 28. Each year, artisans from around the country create handblown glass globes, reminiscent of floats fisherman attach to their nets. Each day, two to five globes are hidden throughout Jekyll Island for the public to find. Each is unique and stamped with the year to be a collector’s item for the lucky explorer who finds them.

Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife. Experience a culinary weekend unlike any other at Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife, an event celebrating the South’s most renowned chefs and incredible wildlife, while benefiting the Jekyll Island Foundation, an organization dedicated to conservation, education, and preservation of Jekyll Island; all at an incredible oceanfront venue.
