Another Georgia/Florida Weekend on St Simons Island has come and gone but one thing remains… Georgia and Florida football fans are welcome back all year!

As the tradition goes, thousands of football fans from Georgia and some from Florida traveled to St Simons Island this past weekend to celebrate the biggest game of the year for Bulldog and Gator fans. From community activities like the Beach Sweep, where trash on the beach is collected to enjoying some fun in the sun on the Beach, the Golden Isles is definitely a favorite destination of UGA and UF fans!

The game is played in Jacksonville, Florida making it a quick and easy hour drive for those who want the best of both worlds. Staying on the beautiful Coast of Georgia, while also experiencing the game live in living color! With a local trolley service offering round trip transportation getting there and back is a breeze. The Bulldogs did win this year nearly shutting out the Gators, 42-7. It’s safe to say most of our guests on St Simons Island were thrilled with the University of Georgia victory.
