These vanilla cupcakes with green sprinkles look delicious! If you’d like to finish your day off in true Irish fashion and have a Heineken at Mellow Mushroom. With indoor and outdoor seating, it is an island favorite. They are known for serving great Pizza but they also have a packed menu of delicious items on their menu as well as a unique and diverse selection of Craft Beer!

Have fun in the sun! Of course, our main attraction on St. Simons island is the Beach! You can’t beat a relaxing day with family and friends relaxing with the coastal sun shining bright. Grab a towel and some chairs and head to the closet beach access to get your day of relaxation started.
The Golden Isles is filled with great history so if you are a history buff take some time out of your schedule to visits monuments like Fort Frederica, Christ Church, or hop on the trolley tour to see all the great points of interest the island has to offer!

The 2018 Pup Crawl Bark For Life Kickoff event is happening tomorrow morning from 11am until 2p. $25 at the gate will get you in the door! By coming out and supporting the Bark for Life you will be helping the American Cancer Society save lives! Don’t miss out!
With Black History Month ending you will not want to miss out on learning about the slave ship Wander that brought people to Jekyll Island in 1858. You will get a behind the scenes look and to hear real live experience as well as enjoy a sneak peek of the upcoming exhibit. Tomorrow is your last opportunity to go visit so be sure to be at St. Andres Picnic Area on Jekyll tomorrow at 2pm.
Fort Frederica Nation Monument is hosting a celebration of Robert S. Abbott. If you don’t know much about Abbott you have got to come to Fort Frederica to hear about all the amazing stories about him! He was born to former slaves on St. Simons Island but grew up to launch the nation’s most important newspaper which helped him to become one of the first Black millionaires. Among many other accolades for his personal achieve his homes are also listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places and he has a ship, school, and park named after him!

As history has it these glass floats were once used to mark the nets of fisherman and occasionally they would get away and wash ashore. Now Jekyll Island selects artist from all over the country to create these one of a kind glass floats for lucky beach goers to find and keep!

Cannon’s Point History Tours

St. Simons Land Trust Oyster Roast
January 14th, 2017
Join the St. Simons Land Trust for its 17th annual Oyster Roast which will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gascoigne Bluff. Local chefs will be preparing and donating Southern favorites like Low Country Boil, BBQ, and Oysters. There will be live music by the folk singer and acoustic guitarist Owen Plant. Tickets are $75 each.
