Winter is a wonderful time of year for outdoor adventures and local events in the Golden Isles. And this year, some of our favorites are back!
St. Simons Land Trust Oyster Roast, January 21st. St. Simons Land Trust’s annual Oyster Roast has been considered a must-do event in the Golden Isles for more than 20 years. Enjoy live music, coastal cuisine and beverages from restaurants and partners across the Golden Isles; while learning about the St. Simons Land Trust initiatives and preservation efforts.
Island Treasure on Jekyll Island. January 1-February 29. Each year, artisans from around the country create handblown glass globes, reminiscent of floats fisherman attach to their nets. Each day, two to five globes are hidden throughout Jekyll Island for the public to find. Each is unique and stamped with the year to be a collector’s item for the lucky explorer who finds them.
Crafts in the Village Market. Enjoy local shopping each month from so many talented artists! This market is free to attend held in St Simons Postell Park on Saturday and Sunday. Visit their site for market weekends you won’t want to miss!
