The St. Simons Island Land Trust has been diligently working to raise the funding necessary to purchase the old stables corner, located at the intersection of Frederica Road and Sea Island road. Until recently, the old stables corner was slated for commercial development. The Land Trust plans to preserve the gorgeous natural live oaks on the corner…. 49 to be exact. Early last spring, an angel donor came forward with nearly half the required funding. The Land Trust then launched a campaign to raise the remaining $2.6 million needed.
